This is the thickest of the hp paper, and honestly the best I've ever
seen used for photos. I would highly recommend it for use in picture
frames. I would not recommend using it for regular photo albums, because
of cost. PLus the fact that regular photos are better glossy. I used
this paper with my HP photosmart 8750, and got the museum photo quality
it suggest. Hope I helped your decisionExcellent heavyweight paper. It has just the right amount of satin
matte finish to diffuse reflections. On my HP Photosmart printer it
gives me fantastic images, with much better color rendition and contrast
than regular warehouse brand gloss paper. I now use this for all my
prints that I like to frame.
One of the nice things about this
paper is the coating on the back side of the paper that prevents papers
from sticking together when stacked.
One caution - if you use
pigment based inkjet printers, this paper is not for you. Use this for
all dye based inkjet printers, which a vast majority are. In the HP
Photosmart range, as of this writing, only the Pro B9180 and Pro B8850
are pigment based inkjet printers.
This paper can be hard to find. It's just the best of the best, even
though the cost is high. I prefer it to glossy paper for any use. I
can't stand glossy paper. All it does is reflect the light. Give me
the matte stuff any day. I'm ordering quite a bit of this paper, in
case it disappears again.
For the past 2 years I have been using this type of paper and was
satisfied. Amazon price was hard to beat which is why I purchased it.
I have been using this paper for years to print photos from home, and
they come out great. I've always bought the paper from my local office
supply store, until I just found that I can get it on Amazon for way
cheaper. Amazon rocks!
In terms of the finish on the paper, i'd give it a 4 out of 5. I think
that it's the perfect amount of gloss, as full glossy on 8.5x11 is a bit
much i think. However comparing the texture of this paper to Illford
Galerie Classic Pearl, the Illford is much smoother/finer texture. In
terms of price, the HP cost's 1/4 of the price of the Illford, and makes
it a very good day to day 8.5x11 photo paper. Colour reproduction is
still very good, not quite as vibrant as the illford, again most likely
due to the rougher texture, and the actual gloss/sheen on the illford is
much nicer. The HP is thicker and has some HP logo's and markings on
the back, whereas the Illford is slightly thinner but has a very nice
finish on the back, that's blank, and I've printed on it with great
results for a couple projects. Hence another reason i gave the HP 4 out
of 5 stars.
The differences are so minimal between the two, but
the way I put it is if you were to frame both, you probably wouldn't
notice a difference which says a lot about the HP. However if you were
to display the print bare, or pass it around, hands down the Illford
feels better and looks better up close.
Yikes! I did not read the listing carefully enough and then tried to
use this paper in my laser printer with horrible effect! The ink
smeared everywhere. The paper itself, however, is very nice and thick.
I LOVE the matte finish on this paper! I was pleasantly surprised with
how beautiful my prints turned out at home, they look like they were
printed in the shop.BIG BIG BIG MISTAKE by HP to do away with this paper and call the new
paper "BETTER"??? By whos standards??? This is the BEST paper out there
and HP says they will not be making it anymore. I hope HP listens to the
customer and change things back. The "NEW" paper is not worth $34 a
box!!!
I've tried so many photo papers. I wait for buy one, get one free, sales.
HP premium Plus is the one!Hands down the best photo paper i used thus far.
Quality is very nice.Very thick paper with good
backing.Matte not high gloss.
I have been searching and searching for the "matte" paper that I bought a
long time ago. I do not like to print on glossy paper, and this is not
at all glossy. Great quality and so happy I can print my photos at home
to scrap on non-glossy paper!
This is the best photo paper we've found. We tried some of the discount
paper, but when it comes to printing family photos this is the paper to
use. You get what you paid for may be true in most cases but not here.
Definitely a must have for anyone looking for great prints.
This is the only paper I will use.Works great on my Epson Photo printer.I like the heavy weight and color quality.
I have been going through all sorts of photo paper. I came across this
and it's just what I need. It's not too thin, or too glossy. It's just
right. Photos come out looking professional. I'm very happy with it.
I've made many copies for the family and they all think I had them done
at a professional photo shop.
Good papar for photos. Wanted 2-sided copy paper to create calendars.
The "HP" logo is on the other side. Cannot use for my need. Purchased
Canon Pixma Matte Photo Paper. This works great.
Awesome product. I print a lot of photos and I create and print
memorials. This is an excellent product. I use to use another product
and had to laminate each one to bring out the colors, but with the HP I
do not have to do this. Colors are perfect. I would highly recommend
this product to all.I am an amature photographer who takes tons of pics and I have found
that the HP Premium Plus Photo Paper in Soft Gloss is the BEST quality I
have ever used! It makes all my prints look pro! I absolutely LOVE it!!
It is usually pretty expensive, but I found some great deals on Amazon!
I definitely recommend this product!
We tried other paper but this is the best. Great color, great texture, and no jams in our printerI purchased this to build a wedding scrapbook, because I knew as I came
up with it, I might not use the standard printed photo sizes. I was
pleasantly surprised by the thickness and texture of the paper. It does
not smudge at all! I would definitely recommend it to anybody.
In case you need to know, I'm using it with an HP Photosmart C5200 printer, and the corresponding photo cartridge. The shipping for this photo paper was awesome! The product itself was
ok. This is my first at home photo printing. 1st, I put the paper in the
wrong way and the picture printed on the backside (duh to me lol). So I
printed another picture the right way and its actually OK. Another dumb
move on my part is that I didn't notice the paper was "low gloss". So
in all aside from my mistakes, its good paper and pictures print out
nicely. The paper itself is very thick.
If you're looking for some high quality but cheap photo paper, this is
it. Not only is not annoyingly shiny, it is some tough stuff. It holds
up very well, even when I use it for displays. If you have an HP photo
printer, I highly recommend getting this paper for your photos. It makes
even the worst photo look awesomeIf you are planning to print your own photos at home, I would recommend this paper. It does an excellent job.
I print out hundreds of pictures each year and I only use this paper in
the soft gloss. It has such a nice feel and the colors are brilliant.
It's the best!
I have a B9180 and have searched high and low for icc profiles for this
paper. If I had only read the fine print, " not for HP 38 ink" I could
have saved myself the aggravation.

The item I ordered was not sent to me. However, what was sent was of the
same quality and more of it. What I got works just fine. Thank you.
