should i buy 8.5 x 11 inch Glossy Color Laser Photo Paper reviews

HP Laser Photo Paper 220g will not work on the HP Color LaserJet CM1312. The roller smears the ink all over the paper. I thought I might have gotten a bad paper batch, so I returned it to Office Depot and bought it again at another Office Depot. The result was the same. If you buy the HP Brochure Paper 160g, 44 lb. instead, it will work perfectly and is actually the same laser photo paper, but not as stiff. In the beginning I called HP to find out how I could eliminate this problem, they wanted to charge me $25.00 to get the answer. I told them to go FKthmslvs and did the research myself. This is not your average printer paper. Very thick and heavy, just specially made for Color Laser printer.
You can print on both side of paper, which I did and no problem at all (tried multiple times with same paper front and back). I think this paper will be ideal for your business brochure or pamphlet, as well as it will be good for your photo collection print out as well.
Other reviewers said that it's jamming inside printer, but I think some printer might not be able to use this paper, since it's very think and heavy. You need to check your printers spec. Your printer need to support Print Media weight 220g (I have Dell 3110cn and it support media 'Covers Thick-Side2 164-216 gsm). And when you are using this paper, you have to make sure that you select right paper type or you will have problem. I read this from somewhere on the web and what they are saying is that Color Laser printer need to heat up the drum higher for coated paper than regular paper. REGARDING THE ONE STAR REVIEWS.
Any glossy paper will not work correctly in a laser printer unless you tell the printer it is using glossy paper. It knows that the gloss is less absorbent, and therefore will fire the laser at a higher temperature and the toner will stick. IF YOU FORGET TO TELL THE PRINTER THAT IT IS USING GLOSSY PAPER YOU WILL GET A MESS. Please don't give products a bad review when it's your fault for not reading the instructions of your printer and the paper. This product is named as being 'glossy' but you should know that laser printers don't really have that glossy effect that you get with a printed photo out of a booth. I bought this paper to print some of my own pictures but the way a laser printer lays down the toner you always get that matt look. The paper, aside from the printing matt, isn't 'glossy' in my opinion. It's shiny-ish and whatever shinyness you call it is on both sides so you could print both sides if you want. But even if i'd used it with a laser printer it would not be 'glossy' it is just a little bit shiny and a thick paper. Don't buy if you're hoping to print pictures. When I tried to print a photo with my Generic/Remanufactured compatible CP2025dn HP toner cartridges, I got a smeared image and had to clean out my printer. Don't know if this was because of the toner cartridges or the paper. Now I buy only Genuine HP Toner, but have yet to try to print a photo on this paper. No problems using this pricey paper with several different HP models and Brother models. Note that color lasers are *NOT* intended to print high-quality hi-res high-contrast photos like inkjets can, so its kind of a fluke if you get one that works well for this; the newest HP I've used (CP3525) produces very nice-looking photos, but definitely not like a glossy inkjet.

One thing I don't have any knowledge of is how laser photos will fade over time, like inkjet photos often do very badly. The technology is totally different, so its possible that they would hold up better for some reason. This is the worst photo paper I have ever purchased. I do not have an HP Laser printer, and the ink was smeared everywhere, even on the back of the following page. For some reason this paper can not hold the ink. Not only did it affect subsequent printings, but I wasted so much ink, and therefore, money. What a crappy product. Horrible quality. This is not your average printer paper. It may be just me but, it seems like every "HP" product I have ever purchased has given me nothing but problems and this photo paper is about the same. First time I ran it through my laser printer it totally melted to the inside of the imaging drum of the printer and caused a major jam. I told myself I would never buy another "HP" product again as long as I live. Hopefully if you decide to buy these you will have better luck than I did.
